Welcome to Special Deliveries Midwifery.  My name is Kelly Fournier. I am a Certified Professional Midwife located in Southwest Missouri, where I have been practicing midwifery for the past six years. During that time, I have had the privilege of delivering over 450 babies. It is my passion to help women feel informed, supported, and confident throughout their pregnancy, labor, and birth. I want women to know that they have the right to make decisions for themselves and their babies.

I am a wife to my best friend, Steve, of 42 yrs. I am the mother of eleven amazing children and grandmother of forty-two grandchildren, most of which I have had the pleasure of helping bring into this world. I have been delivering babies for over 15 years. My journey to become a midwife grew out of my own birth experiences in having my own children at home. My birth experiences with my own home birth midwives were both empowering and life changing.

I started my midwifery career by apprenticing under three CPMs in the Nashville, Tennessee area from 2011-2014. I then apprenticed under two CPMs in the Springfield, Missouri area from 2014-2016. I completed my apprenticeship working under two highly skilled CPMs in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania who specialized in breech, VBACs, and twins in one of the largest home birth midwifery practices in the United States. I graduated from Mercy In Action’s College of Midwifery in 2018.  I am a Certified Birth Educator, have advanced training in Spinning Babies, and have taken Birth Emergency Skills Training.  I have completed hands-on in person training in vaginal breech birth through Breech Without Borders and maintain current certifications in both CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation. I have extensive training in women’s health, postpartum care, fertility counseling, and managing progesterone. I am certified by the North American Registry of Midwives and legally practice in the state of Missouri.

I believe that every mother has the right to choose where she will give birth and who will assist her. I believe birth works best when women feel heard, respected, and supported, not rushed or dismissed. I would be honored to support you during this special season in your life.
