Unfortunately, most insurance, including Medicare/Medicaid does not cover Home Birth CPMs. However, most Christian Healthcare sharing ministries do cover our services. Please let us know if you have a Christian Healthcare plan (Zion HealthShare, Samaritan Ministries, Christian Healthcare, etc.) and we will talk to you about how we work with these to minimize costs for you.
Our global midwifery fee is $6000. This is reduced by $500 if client pays in full by 36 weeks and an additional $300 discount for repeat clients. All unpaid costs are due by your due date. This fee includes initial exam, nutritional counseling, prenatal visits, glucose screening, in-home labor & birth support, assistant fees, immediate postpartum care, immediate newborn care, CCHD (heart) screening, ongoing postpartum & newborn care until 6 weeks postpartum, and filing the birth certificate. Extras that are not included in the global fee would include lab work & blood typing, physician or medical fees, supplements, birth kit, RhoGam shot (for Rh – mothers), medications, ultrasounds, IV supplies, sutures, birthing cottage rental, etc.
For lower income self-pay clients, we do offer a sliding scale discount. If your total income is less than $6000/month, please contact us to find out how our sliding scale can make our services more affordable for you. Be prepared to provide proof of income.
Those seeking reimbursement from Christian Healthcare sharing plans do not qualify for the same discounts as lower income self pay.
Conditions that typically preclude a client from being a candidate for a home birth include but are not limited to: uncontrolled diabetes, uncontrolled hypertension, blood clotting disorders, and a history of serious birth complications.
